Rolling on the river

Went to Corozal the other day and when we came back, we were just getting underway on the ferry when a sugar barge coming down the river tooted its horn (sugar cane harvesting is done for a few months, but processing is still going on, so this was probably a load of sugar on its way into Corozal Bay).

So the ferry workers lowered the crank chain into the water and held off on our ride until the barge went by. Ray had seen this once before, on a trip to town without me (and without his camera, too) but it was a first for me.

Also, the view from our windshield for the eventual cross-over: This big truck in front of us.
