Fido’s Restaurant & Bar

What’s not to like about this place?!
First of all, it has a fun name (pronounced fee-dos, not like the dog’s name).

The bar and restaurant, plus a complete liquor store and an art gallery, are all under the biggest palapa roof in Belize.

The food is good and reasonably priced, and they serve draft Belikin (a rarity) – in fact, draft DOUBLES. 🙂

There’s live music almost every night.

If all that’s not enough, Jerry Jeff Walker hosts his annual Camp Belize concerts there every January (we’ll be attending the next one if we’re still here), and Kelly McGuire plays regular gigs too when he’s in town.

As it happened, Wednesday (our first night on island) was Reggae Night at Fido’s. And there was a full moon. And the band was awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
