At the risk of seeming a shill for Hopkins Bay Resort (I’m not – it was just such a beautiful place), here’s one more round of photos from around the grounds.
I’m a sucker for natural touches, and the resort did them well – things like these hollowed out bamboo lamps that hung from trees and lit our way at night.
Or these rope and shell curtain tie-backs in our rooms, and the conch shell “vase” with fresh-cut flowers on the tables at the Rhum Shack.
These walkways wove all over the property, with little clay or ceramic lightshades on poles all along. I took a photo of all of them lit at night but didn’t really do it justice – you’ll have to settle for just the one, to get the idea.
