We had most of our meals during our two day stay on property at the Rhum Shack. The staff was great, and the food was tasty.
Ray’s taken a liking to the traditional Belizean breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, refried beans, and fry jacks (very airy deep-fried dough triangles).
I went for an omelette and a really delicious fruit smoothie (and stole a fry jack off his plate).
The bar itself was pretty cool – swings for seats on two sides (see pic above right), and the liquor lineup was stacked on a wooden plank hung from the ceiling. I also liked the shadowbox effect for specific bottles. And the driftwood light fixture, with as usual an enormous palapa ceiling overhead.
Not to mention the view. I just figured out that my tablet will take panoramic views – wish I had known that when we were there, because a 360-degree image would have been excellent there.
Again, worth staying for…just wished all our friends and family could have been here with us!
